When Should You Schedule Maternity Photos?
Most families choose to schedule their maternity session between 32 and 34 weeks of pregnancy, when your baby bump is beautifully visible while you are still comfortable moving and enjoying your session.
Every pregnancy is different, so the best time depends on how you are feeling and the look you want to capture.
Maternity sessions can also be scheduled earlier for:
- Pregnancy announcements
- Gender reveals
- Capturing your pregnancy journey throughout multiple stages
If you would like to document multiple stages of your pregnancy, I offer discounted options for booking multiple maternity sessions.
I recommend booking early to reserve the date and time that works best for you.
Creating Beautiful Outdoor Maternity Portraits
For outdoor maternity sessions, the most beautiful lighting occurs during Golden Hour—approximately one hour before sunset.
This soft, warm light creates a romantic and natural look that beautifully highlights your connection with your growing family.
Feel free to bring meaningful items to include in your session, such as:
- Ultrasound photos
- Baby shoes
- A special baby outfit
- Personalized signs
- Family heirlooms
- Blankets or sentimental items
Your edited gallery will be delivered within two weeks of your session, so you can enjoy your images well before your baby arrives.
What Should You Wear for Maternity Photos?
The most important thing is choosing clothing that makes you feel beautiful and comfortable. Your maternity portraits should reflect your personality and style.
Colors that photograph beautifully include:

Flowing fabrics and beautiful textures photograph especially well. Consider:

Fresh 48 sessions document your baby’s first hours of life in the hospital, capturing those tiny details and emotional first moments within the first 48 hours after birth.
In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Photography
In-home newborn sessions provide a relaxed, documentary-style experience using the comfort of your own home and beautiful natural light.
I bring a carefully selected collection of newborn accessories, including:
- A woven bassinet
- Soft textured blankets
- Simple newborn props
You are welcome to include your own swaddles, outfits, and meaningful items as well.
For the best natural light, I recommend scheduling in-home sessions between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
In-Studio Newborn Photography
Studio newborn sessions are available in Medina and provide a beautiful, controlled environment for timeless portraits.
A $60 studio fee applies.
My newborn style combines lifestyle storytelling with gentle posing, including beautiful portraits of your baby in a bassinet, tiny bed, or wooden bowl.
You are welcome to bring your own swaddles, outfits, and special items to personalize your session.
Milestone Photography
