About Photographer Katie Scalmato 

Katie Scalmato is a Northeast Ohio photographer specializing in weddings, families, maternity, newborns, seniors, milestones, events, and portrait photography. Her work blends fine art portraiture, documentary storytelling, and authentic human connection to create timeless images that celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.

Katie earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where she received classical training in visual arts, composition and storytelling. This artistic foundation continues to shape her work, combining technical expertise with an emotional, narrative-driven approach.

In addition to her fine arts background, Katie has experience in Early Childhood Education, allowing her to connect naturally with children and create relaxed, engaging photography sessions for families. She is trained in newborn photography safety and is fully licensed and insured for professional photography at wedding venues.

Accessibility and inclusion are central to Katie’s work. As the parent of a child with Autism, she understands that every family has unique needs and is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive photography experience for clients of all abilities. Katie works with families to adapt sessions for individuals with disabilities or sensory differences, ensuring every client feels comfortable, respected, and able to fully participate.
